Brussels-based French pianist Claire Chevallier is highly sought after on the international stage. Renowned for her award-winning recordings, Claire specializes in historically informed performances. As both a musician and researcher, she has curated her own collection of keyboard instruments, comprising six grand pianos that span the period from 1842 to 1920.
She has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at prestigious venues such as Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan't IJ in Amsterdam, Vredenburg Utrecht, Netwerk Oude Muziek Utrecht, Musikfestspiele Sanssouci Potsdam, Köln Brühl Schloss Konzerte, Köln Fest für Alte Musik, Musikfestspiele Bremen, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Mozarteum Salzburg, Beethoven Fest in Bonn, Flâneries Musicales de Reims, Cité de la musique in Paris, Salle Pleyel, Opéra de Bordeaux, and Auditorium de Dijon.
In Belgium, she is a frequent guest at renowned venues such as Concertgebouw Brugge, BOZAR Brussels, Flagey, AMUZ Antwerp, de Bijloke Gent, the Festival of Flanders in Ghent and Bruges, and the Klara Festival. Additionally, she served as a jury member at the Bruges International Pianoforte Competition in 2007 and 2009, and in 2014 at the International Liszt Competition in Utrecht, Holland.
In 2018 she was a member of the jury at the First Warsaw International Chopin Competition on early instruments.
Since 2004, she has been teaching fortepiano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Her broad interest in artistic disciplines has led her to collaborate with various artists and groups, including Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker/Rosas, Josse de Pauw, David Claerbout, Wayn Traub/Toneelhuis, Benoît van Innis, Jan Decorte/Bloet (2011), Claron McFadden/Transparant (2017), Jan Lauwers/Needcompany (2019), and Lisbeth Gruwez/Voetvolk (2020-2023).
